How to Clean Your Mr. Coffee Pot
Keeping your Mr. Coffee pot squeaky clean is a must. Not only does it help to keep your coffee tasting its best, it also keeps your pot running efficiently. Here’s how you can keep your Mr. Coffee pot looking and functioning like new.
Things You’ll Need
- White vinegar
- Water
- Soap and water
- Soft cloth or sponge
- Small brush
Cleaning the Pot
- Unplug your coffee maker and remove the pot.
- Empty and rinse the pot with warm, soapy water.
- Clean the pot with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse the pot thoroughly.
- Fill the pot with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water, about half to three-quarters full.
- Place the pot back into the machine, and turn on the cleaning cycle.
- Turn off the machine, and drain the pot after the cycle has finished.
- Rinse the pot several times using only water to remove the vinegar.
- Clean the outside of the carafe with a soft cloth, mild detergent and water.
- Dry the pot completely before putting it back into the machine.
Cleaning the Inside of the Pot
- Fill the pot with a solution of a tablespoon of baking soda in a cup of water.
- Allow the solution to sit for about 30 minutes.
- Using a small brush, scrub the inside of the pot to help remove any buildup.
- Empty the pot and rinse well with water.
- Add a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water, fill the pot half to three-quarters of the way full.
- Place the pot back into the machine, and turn on the cleaning cycle.
- Turn off the machine and drain the pot after the cycle has finished.
- Rinse the pot several times using only water to remove the vinegar.
